3 Tips For A Comfortable and Chic Living Room

Comfort comes mainly with the feeling of freedom and space. You might feel the urge to move all of your living room furniture against your wall to get more space. Alternatively, you might make use of the tips below to achieve a better sense of comfort while keeping the design chic.

1. Grouped Artwork
If you have a long space of wall, you do not necessarily have to use just one piece of art to embellish it. You might instead consider having several smaller art pieces grouped together on the wall. These pieces would create the same dramatic effect as one bigger piece. Often smaller artwork pieces might cost less and you might already have them in your collection. Alternatively, you might also consider putting up family portraits.

2. Back-to-Back Sofas
If you are lucky enough to have a living room with a view and a fireplace in the same room, you might want to take advantage of both of these features. A trick would be to place a sofa facing each of these focal points. You might just be careful about keeping enough space for people to walk around comfortably.

3. One Big Rug
A single large rug would give the impression of a bigger space. Smaller rugs tend to cut the space down into smaller portions and the room thus looks cluttered and disorganized. Rugs in subtle patterns might work better than those carrying big patterns. You can also use textured carpeting for this and have it cut about 12-inch from each wall.
